During a typical session I try to capture many different types of expressions and interactions between my couples. Some photos will be closeups, some will be portraits, and some will be environmental (including your surroundings). I want to capture as many details of our time together as I can. I will try to get a posed, traditional shot, but my specialty lies in capturing the interactions between you and your significant other. Having everyone smile and say ‘cheese’ isn’t my thing. I want to make you relaxed and enjoy your time with your significant other to ensure that I capture authentic moments.

Yes, I have multiple natural and urban locations you can choose from that will produce optimal light and visual interest in the evenings. If you want to do a session in your home or in a special location outside of the city I'm more then happy to do so. If there is travel associated with your location (typically more than 20 miles outside of Fort Collins) a travel fee may apply.

The quick and easy answer is whatever you feel comfortable in! Taking this a bit deeper...think about what you want to do with your photos: Do you want an album that you two can privately look at? Do you want a canvas print that you can display in your house? Are you primarily concerned with capturing the best part of what makes you such a great couple? Will what you are wearing match your décor or goals? Taking into consideration the above will help guide your choices on what to wear. Once you have booked your appointment and paid your session, I will send you a brochure that has the do’s and don’ts of dressing for your session. Yes, I love when my couples have different looks. However, this isn't always necessary in couple sessions. The most important ingredient in a couple session is happiness. If changing clothes is going to make a reluctant or shy significant other uncomfortable or 'drag it out for them,' it might be best to keep it simple with one outfit. If both of you are enthusiastic with outfit changes then by all means, go ahead! Remember, numerous outfit changes could potentially cut into your session time and the overall number of photos taken. If you'd like extra time added to your session it will be charged at a rate of $100/hr.

My couples sessions are usually 1-1.5 hrs. long.

Definitely! I love animals and if this is a common bond between you two it will definitely show. Adding animals can add logistical and behavior issues during a session. The attention could suddenly go from you to your pet. If you'd like or need additional time to accommodate better photos of you with your pet, a fee of $100/hr. will be charged.

Luckily, in Colorado we don’t often have inclement weather. Unless it is downpouring, I see no need to reschedule our appointment. There are many wonderful ways to photograph successfully in different types of conditions whether it be sunny or overcast. A little snow shower or rain can add a dreamy, magical atmosphere. We might even be lucky enough to get a rainbow! I try to keep up to date with the weather before a session so I can notify you if any changes need to occur, but this is typically never the case.

Time. The most important ingredient in our lives today seems to be time; how we are going to use it, and how we don’t seem to have enough of it. These will be heirlooms passed down, memories relived of years flown by in the blink of an eye.
