Fluffball

from $87.99

There is a small pond near my home that attracts geese and ducks throughout the year. Starting in late February, the geese begin to come back from their southern migration. Soon after, the coupling begins along with all the squawking and fighting. It’s quite a sight to see and hear! However, once all that has settled down the nests are made, the eggs are laid, then the eggs finally begin to hatch in mid to late April. I’ve been visiting these ponds for the last ten years during the spring and it’s one of my favorite times of the year. My daughter and I make daily sojourns around the pond waiting for the first sign of hatching. Interestingly, it often happens within the same three days every year! When the chicks first start walking around they are so small, yellow, and cute that I end up taking tons of photos. Every year I’m able to capture something different from the previous year.
