Moonlight Surveillance
One winter in Fort Collins, a local lake became the hotspot for bald eagles. On any given day, you could see anywhere from two to eighteen bald eagles. They’d roost in the trees at night, fly from nearby areas in the early morning hours for breakfast, rest during the day, or even play in the wind currents high above. I spent two months walking around this lake in every kind of weather to see what I could capture. One early morning, I was lucky enough to be out in the blue hour with a full moon. I saw these two bald eagles roosting in a thicket of trees and knew that I needed to capture them with the moon. This photo is the result of that.
