Eden, South Dakota: Sunsets, Star Wars, and Frolicking Dogs-Part IV

A couple of nights we decided to brave the negative temperatures in Eden, South Dakota and take in the sunset. After we’d walked around town we found we still had twenty minutes or so until the sun went down. In order to stay warm we had to get a little creative and silly with a reenactment of Star Wars. Not much after that, one person started to get cold and had to go in, forcing us to come up with something new to keep us warm. I decided I needed to photograph my dogs in the gorgeous light running and frolicking with each other. Remarkably, those ended up being some of my favorite pictures from our trip to Eden, South Dakota.

Eden, South Dakota: Deer, Sunrises, Hay Bales, Icicles, Grain Bins, Snow Drifts, and Abstract Snow Textures-Part III

Eden, South Dakota was the perfect backdrop for photography this winter. It’s a good thing I only visited for a week or I might have taken thousands of photos instead of hundreds. The sunrises, the sunsets, the deer, the hay bales, the dangling icicles, the abstract snow textures, and the grain bins around town provide the backdrop for this section of my blog.

South Dakota Road Trip: Ground Blizzard, Snow, Wind, Cold Temperatures and Beautiful Light-Part I

Was this winter colder and snowier than usual or was it just me? Personally, I’m ready for spring and the sun. However, I’m going to take you back in time to the holidays. In December, we took a road trip to Eden, South Dakota. If you remember, the whole country was forecasted to have bracing temperatures, wind, and general nastiness, From a weather standpoint it was pretty icky, however, from a photography standpoint this road trip was fairly epic.
