The Bighorns: Playtime in the Woods Bambi Style, and More Fog-Part II
Cruising around looking for wildlife in the early morning hours is one of my favorite pastimes. You don’t really need to be looking for anything in particular because if you don’t see what you want, you will surely come across something else equally exciting. This morning I was on my way back to the lodge after not seeing a heck of a whole lot when I came across a mother deer and two twins. We decided to stop for a bit and see what would happen. Typically, a family of deer will run deep into the woods. This time the mother did, however, the two babies started playing together, darting into the woods and towards their mother and then running back out. It was a sight to see! These are not the best photos but the memories they bring are priceless.
Eden, South Dakota: Sunsets, Star Wars, and Frolicking Dogs-Part IV
A couple of nights we decided to brave the negative temperatures in Eden, South Dakota and take in the sunset. After we’d walked around town we found we still had twenty minutes or so until the sun went down. In order to stay warm we had to get a little creative and silly with a reenactment of Star Wars. Not much after that, one person started to get cold and had to go in, forcing us to come up with something new to keep us warm. I decided I needed to photograph my dogs in the gorgeous light running and frolicking with each other. Remarkably, those ended up being some of my favorite pictures from our trip to Eden, South Dakota.
